Volunteer News 2008:

So many students have benefited this year, from the help of our volunteers. They have grown as readers, writers and Mathematicians. With the thanks of volunteer support they have had the chance to explore new places on field trips and develop their art skills too. But most of all, students have learned that there are many people out there that care and support them.

If you can not help out at the school, maybe you could pass the volunteer word on to a neighbor or retired grandparent. Please let them know about our school. Sari would be happy to tailor a volunteers hour(s) to just what the volunteer would like. The day, time and their preference in where they help out in can be arranged. We have an awesome crew of retired people who come in once a week and listen to children read, help out in the classrooms and work one-on-one with students. We welcome people from the community. We have found their commitment a huge benefit.

Volunteer Application Renewal Date

Edmonds School District has changed its policy on the expiration date of a volunteer application. Westgate volunteers will need to complete a volunteer application every year. If you have not completed an application at the start of this school year, please let your classroom teacher know, or contact Sari White at 425-431-1529 to request an application.
