| Becoming
a Lunch Buddy takes only one hour each week. Adult buddies are
matched up with one student (little buddy) with whom they will
visit with throughout the year. This connection can have a huge
positive effect not only on the student, but also on the adult
buddy.
What
is involved? The adult buddy can either bring a lunch or purchase
a school lunch ($3.00 for adult) and eat with an assigned
student once a week.
We
will provide board games, arts and craft materials, books,
playing cards and a relaxing space to visit and connect with
each other. Buddies can choose to do an activity or just sit
and talk. It is up to the adult and little buddy on what they
decide.
There
will always be someone on-hand throughout the hour in case
the adult buddy has any questions, concerns or if they need
to leave early.
Our
Lunch Buddy Program is schedule to be flexible. Between the
adult and their little buddy, they can pick the day that works
best for both of them. The time is set from 11:30 am to 12:40
pm. This covers lunch and recess times.
