9300 - SHORT-TERM LEASE OF FACILITIES

It is the policy of Edmonds School Distict that the superintendent or designee may offer certain facilities for rent or lease for short-term periods of up to five (5) years. Facilities designated for short-term lease are buildings and grounds not currently used for school purposes. Short-term leases for longer than one (1) year require approval by the school board. Facilities may be offered to other governmental entities, non-profit corporations, or other private interests.
Such rental or lease shall:
- be in the best interest of the district,
- be for lawful purposes,
- permit the district to recall use of the facility should it be needed for school purposes.
When compatible with lessees' intended uses, the gymnasiums and playfields will be retained by the district for scheduled uses by the district and community groups.
Monies derived from the rental or lease of such facilities shall be deposited in the Capital Projects Fund, except for operating costs or other costs associated with such rental or lease which shall be deposited in the General Fund.
