The Edmonds School District recognizes that the educational process requires a continuity of instruction, active classroom participation, and meaningful learning experiences, which require regular attendance. The importance of prompt and regular attendance shall be emphasized at all grade levels in all programs. Ultimately, the students and their parents have the responsibility for ensuring that the student attends classes promptly and regularly as prescribed by the Compulsory Attendance Law of the State of Washington.
The superintendent shall develop procedures to guide the management of student attendance, including the procedures for determining the consequences of nonattendance.
