It is the policy of Edmonds School District to provide and
maintain the best schools and facilities possible within available resources
to accommodate teaching, learning and other district functions. The goals
of the Board of Directors in this regard are:
- to provide new buildings and renovation of existing buildings that
will accommodate and facilitate those organizational and instructional
patterns that support the district's educational philosophy and instructional
goals;
- to meet all safety requirements in new construction and through the
remodeling of older structures;
- to provide such building renovations as are needed to meet requirements
on the availability of public school facilities to handicapped persons;
and,
- to insure that building design and construction will lend themselves
to low maintenance costs and the conservation of energy. These two factors
will also be given special consideration in the renovation of buildings.
