It is the policy of Edmonds School District that Board members may be removed from office for the following reasons:
Due to unexcused absence from Board meetings:
The absence of any member from four consecutive regular meetings of the
Board of Directors, except as a result of illness or authorized by resolution
of the Board, shall be sufficient cause for the remaining members of the
Board of Directors to declare by resolution that such board member position
is vacated.
Due to other causes:
Board members may also be removed from office for:
(a) recall petition election in which recall is voted;
(b) conviction of a crime or an offense involving the violation of his/her oath of office;
(c) his/her failure to continue to qualify for the office as required by law; and/or
(d) the decisions of a court declaring void his/her election or appointment.
