This is my 3rd year as the assistant principal at Meadowdale Middle School. MMS has a strong tradition of academic and extra curricular excellence, hard working and dedicated staff, and a supportive community of parents and volunteers.
I grew up in the Edmonds/Lynnwood area and attended Meadowdale High School. Following high school I attended Western Washington University and completed my student teaching at Meridian High School in Whatcom County.
I began my teaching career at MMS in the early 1990s. I taught 7th and 8th grade social studies for 4 years before leaving for Edmonds-Woodway High School. At EWHS, I taught history to 9th, 10th and 11th graders for 7 years. My final 4 years at EWHS were spent as the dean of students. I also enjoyed a 15 year stint as the varsity baseball coach and assistant football coach.
As the assistant principal at MMS, I supervise the language arts, social studies, PE, music and elective programs. I also serve as the school's athetic director and oversee ASB and after school clubs. School safety, student discipline and attendance, event supervision, parent club liason and of the chairperson of the MMS Safe and Civil Schools Committee are also included in my duties as assistant principal.
Open communication with parents and families is essential in helping me to support all of the students at MMS. Please call or email me with any questions or concerns regarding your student's experience at MMS.
