ABC-CLIO includes two historical databases. America: History and Life is a complete bibliographic reference to the history of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present. Historical Abstracts include a guide to the history of the world from the Scientific Revolution to the present.

The Encyclopædia Britannica is the world's most comprehensive reference. It also includes pronunciation guides and word histories--from Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.

CultureGrams is a geographical database that includes maps, flags, statistics and information for more than 200 nations around the world. Entries have brief contemporary and historical social, political, and economic profiles. There are specific sections on each of the US states and Canadian provinces.

The Grolier database includes multimedia resources such as photographs, videos and interactive maps, as well as news articles, feature stories and an international news desk. Bibliographic tools supporting MLA, APA and the Chicago Manual of Style are provided for articles in the database.

The Issues & Controversies covers 800 topics updated weekly. Subjects are presented with background information and positional arugments for and against specific issues. This database is best suited to research papers and debate preparation.

NetTrekker connects to more than 180,000 references (including images) which have been evaluated and approved by educators. The sites are organized by grade and readability level and aligned with state standards.

World Book Online includes resource guides; more than 20,000 photos, illustrations, and maps; an online reference center including dictionaries and atlases. This is a companion site for the World Book encyclopedia set in the reference section of the library.
