What do I do
if my child is going to be
absent or late to school?
We have a 24-hour voice mail system. Simply call 425-431-7854,
extension 1 as
soon as you know if your child is going to be absent or tardy. It's
best if you
call before 9:15 am.
What about early dismissals from school?
If you need to dismiss your child early from school, please come into
the
office. As you are signing out your child for the day, we will contact
the
classroom to have your child sent to the office. Many teachers like a
heads-up
note from the parent to let them know about an early dismissal so the
student
can be ready with backpack and coat in hand when they get the call from
the
office.
What happens if my child forgets his/her
lunch or lunch money?
A student who is without a lunch for any reason will be given a sack
lunch from
Betty, our school cook. The PSO provides peanut butter or cheese
sandwiches,
chips, fruit and milk -- quite tasty, actually, when you're really
hungry.
We ask that students not use the school telephone to call home for a
lunch.
Use of school telephone / going home with
friends
We know how much fun it is to go home with a friend after school.
However,
students really need to make these arrangements from home the night
before.
It takes time to verify that a student has permission to accompany
another
student home on the bus, or ride home with another parent, etc.
To give your child permission to go home with another student, simply
send a
note (with bus # or parent driver name) -- this alleviates a lot of the
"end of the day confusion"
Dropping off / parking at school
When dropping off your child, please drive straight down the hill
and drop your students off by the cross walk at the end of the gym,
avoiding the circular driveway altogether.
(We have busses coming and going constantly throughout the day.
It is important they have clear access into and out of the school.)
We know how limited our parking is, but we need your help to make sure
students
are safe.
Please avoid parking in the circular driveway in front of the school at
any time
during the day.
