The Academy program provides services for students who qualify for special education, and struggling students who are performing at or below the 30th percentile, or are otherwise at risk of failing, or students who are at risk of not meeting the district’s academic and behavior standards.

The Academy staff works to create an effective learning environment that is safe and orderly.  Academy classrooms provide a positive school climate for students to develop and be guided in positive behaviors. 

Staff work collaboratively to develop the school plan for proactively teaching social skills and also managing discipline problems.  Academy teachers provide support to students while they develop the appropriate social skills and life-long learning habits for success.  They focus on critical issues in the delivery of services, using the criteria, “what is best for learning” as the North Star to process issues.
